My third class experience...Period III

Well, this was my last class experience with intermediate level II, and I really enjoyed this class more than the previous ones because most of students participated.

First, I started the class with a warm-up activity and I gave them a lyric of a song called: “I will survive”. Then, students had to underline all the gerunds and infinitives verbs while they listened to the song. After that, we listened to the song again and we sang all together.

Then, I made a review of the class and I gave them extra information about gerunds and infinitives. I pasted a chart with some verbs that are followed by infinitives and another list of verbs that are followed by gerunds, and I also provided them some examples. After that, I gave them a fill in the blanks activity in order that they could practice about the topic. Then, I gave them a reading in which they had to underline all the gerunds and infinitives verbs according to the reading.

I also worked with the book in a listening and in a writing activity in which they had to write an email including some gerunds and infinitive verbs.

At the end, I made a speaking activity with these questions: What kind of things do you want to do next vacations? Where do you want to go? Why? –What kind of things do you enjoyed doing? Why? – What kind of things do you dislike doing? Why? In this activity, students had to stand up and choose a partner to work with. And when both of them finished, they had to choose another classmate to talk about it. I could see that students really enjoyed this activity, and the most important is that they could put into practice about when to use gerunds and infinitives.

Finally, I want to say that I have had the opportunity to work with basic, intermediate and advanced level. And they are groups completely different, therefore; I have learned that as teachers we have to do our best in every class if we want to facilitate students' learning process.
