On Thursday 4th, I had my last class teaching
experience with advanced level II. First, I started the class with a speaking warm
up activity called “finish the sentence”.
In this activity students had to give an appropriate ending to some
sentences that I gave them related with the topic they were studying. Then, I
gave them a reading and I pasted a chart which contained some new words in
order that students could understand better the article, and I also developed
some exercises according to the reading.
After that, I developed a speaking activity and in
this activity I asked for volunteers to participate, but just few of them
participated. So, that’s why the teacher told me that sometimes we have to
point out and push students to make them participate and we must not only ask
for volunteers. At the end, I developed a scramble activity related with the
topic they were studying.
Another problem that I had was that in the previous class
I assigned students a task, and when I wanted to check it orally I realized that just three of
them did the homework. That’s why I did not have much participation in this
part. And in the feedback the teacher told me that in that case, I should have
found another manner to make them participate for example, in that case I
should have wrote some sentences on the board and try to solve them all
together in order that most of the students could participate and not just few
of them.
I consider that I have learned many things from the
teacher’s feedback and I am going to take advantage of the piece of advices. I
think that every time we give classes; we learn something new, but the most important
is to try to put into practice all the things we learn in our teaching
practicum.
