Today I had my second class experience with
basic level. At
the beginning of the class, I started with a warm up activity that is called: “pass
the balls”. Then, I gave them a reading that contained the use of the simple
present tense in which they had to underline all the verbs they find in the
reading. In this class, I taught students about the simple present tense and
the possessive case. First, I explained them the grammar part about the simple
present and I provided them some examples. I also explained them some of the main
rules to form the possessive case and they also had some practice about it.
I
think in this class were many things that went well, for example; I could get
students’ attention while I was explaining the grammar part and I could see
most of them understood the information, because I tried to give them
understandable explanation and examples. They also participated in all the
activities that I did.
Something
that did not go so well was that some students had problems at the moment to develop
the exercises, because they found kind of difficult the exercises, but I
thought it was going to be easy for them;
and that they were going to be able to develop the activity in few minutes. So,
these were some of the problems I had
during the class, because I spent a lot of time in this activity and I did not
expect that.
I
have learned that we need to be careful to set the time; and we also have to select
very well the materials we are going to use and be ready to things which are
unexpected, because as teachers we need to be ready to deal with different
situations.
Hello teacher Vero!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the activities that you developed. I can notice that you had a very good class in general. Congratulations about that!!
Thanks for sharing what you learned from your experience, I am going to take into account your pieces of advise because they are very useful.
Best regards.
